Project: Food Budget, Week 25

We went to Costco. Need I mention that our March food spending will NOT come in under $500 or even $600?

I’m also writing this from the campus library, because I’ve been kicked out of my office by the third bomb threat in 10 days. This means I’m going to go buy Indian food from the lunch truck, because I can’t access my lunch up in my office fridge.

Despite the trip to Costco shocking me at $255, I’ve been really happy with everything we bought there. We’ve purchased and consumed 14 pounds of fresh fruit this week! (Some of that went toward our contribution to lunch on our road trip to WV) Miles has been eating BROCCOLI! I’ll say that again–my toddler has been eating broccoli. Voluntarily.

Also? Frozen waffles mean that breakfast is at least one meal each day where I’m not stressed out and begging or conniving or otherwise forcing my child to consume food. I just hand him a waffle (sometimes still frozen, sometimes toasted–he chooses) and he eats the food. Worth it!

I need to also mention that we ate dinner at Black Bear Burritos in Morgantown and it was the most amazing explosion of flavors I have ever experienced. Kiwi cilantro salsa, people! I’d happily drive 90 minutes just for dinner, but it was lovely to also see our friends. See how road trips don’t have to equal Sheetz food?

Our grand total for the week is $320. That brings us to $589 for March so far.

How did everyone else do?
